Bio
Following hot on the heels of debut single ‘Cigarette Smuggling’, released May 2011, which gained reviews using words like “genius” and “pure alternative perfection”, Glasgow based band Mummy Short Arms released their second single, a maverick slice of melody entitled ‘Change’ on 14th Nov 2011. Reviewers have compared the band to Captain Beefheart, the Velvet Underground and Tom Waits. Both singles are available on limited edition vinyl replica cd and download. One listen and you too may become addicted to their surreal charm!
THE LIST selected Change as SINGLE OF THE MONTH for November, while Loud Horizon said, “I think I could confidently predict that Glasgow’s MUMMY SHORT ARMS are probably the best band you haven’t yet heard.” Radio play so far includes STEVE LAMACQ and TOM ROBINSON on 6music, Selector @ NME RADIO, JIM GELLATLY and GILL MILLS @ Amazing Radio.
2012 sees the band set to release a debut album which we are very excited about.
